This temporary wiki has been created to help draft the Cape Town Open Education Declaration and to capture notes from the Open Sourcing Education meeting that happened 14 & 15 September 2007 in Cape Town, South Africa.

Following Up From Cape Town (active)
The Cape Town Open Education Declaration was launched on January 22, 2008, sparking a good deal of interest and debate. The following links are designed to help us track the progress and plan next steps:

Of course, it's also useful to track the Declaration web site as it includes a constantly updated list of signatures.
Cape Town Declaration Drafting Process (archive)
During the last quarter of 2007, a draft Declaration was prepared by a small group of stewards from the Cape Town meeting. Links to material used during this process include:
- Declaration version history page (not fully complete).
- Declaration comments page used during the feedback process.
- Draft Open Education FAQ eventually used on the live site.
- Discussion about possible open tech declaration.
In addition to this wiki, the drafting group is also worked via a Google Group / email list. This is where most of the conversation about the draft took place.
Open Sourcing Education Meeting - Sept 2007 (archive)
A meeting called Open Sourcing Education meeting was held in Cape Town on 14 & 15 September 2007 with the aim of coming up with a declaration on open education. These links will help you find out what happened:

The Open Sourcing Education meeting was co-organized by the Open Society Institute, the Shuttleworth Foundation and the Hewlett Foundation.
